Distraction Of The Day: Check Out Taylor Skerpon’s Web Gem

Though Minnesota finished off its sweep of Penn State baseball on Sunday afternoon, at least one Nittany Lion had something to be excited about after the game.

In the third inning of the Big Ten matchup, with Minnesota leading 6-3, Jake Bergren lined a pitch into what looked like a gap into right field. Penn State’s senior second baseman Taylor Skerpon had other ideas, and leaped through the air to make a highlight-reel full-extension grab.

The catch, which was No. 3 on the SportsCenter top 10 Sunday night, was an instant classic. Check it out:

The Golden Gophers went on to win 9-5 and outhit the Lions 11-7, but Skerpon’s web gem saved at least one base hit.

Penn State baseball will be back in action this Tuesday in a one-game series at Kent State.
