Four-Star Linebacker Cameron Brown Commits To Penn State

Franklin/beaver stadium stock

Linebacker U and the Class of 2016 just got stronger, as Penn State football landed its 17th recruit this morning. James Franklin and co. secured four-star outside linebacker Cameron Brown, who gave his verbal commitment through his personal twitter.

The 6-foot, 210 pound linebacker out of Potomac, Maryland, is the first verbal commit during Penn State football’s “Lasch Bash.” Brown is the fourth Class of 2016 recruit from Maryland. Franklin’s ability to land out-of-state recruits is uncanny, as 14 of his 17 2016 commits are out-of-state.

The Maryland native is the first linebacker of the 2016 class to commit. Brown had many offers on the table, including ones from Pitt, Arizona State, Duke, Rutgers, Temple, Wisconsin, and many others. Brown commits to a program where the linebacker is a sacred and coveted position, famously given the nickname “Linebacker U” for the ability to mold successful linebackers.
