Three-Star Linebacker Shaka Toney Commits To Penn State

Lasch Bash finished up with Penn State’s second commitment of the day. Three-star linebacker Shaka Toney gave his verbal commitment to Penn State on Saturday afternoon.

The 6-foot-3, 210 pound LB joins Cameron Brown, who gave his verbal commitment this morning. Toney, a Philadelphia native, marks the 18th commit to the Class of 2016 and the fourth from Pennsylvania.

Toney played DE in high school but was recruited to play in college as a linebacker. Josh Gattis successfully recruited Toney to LinebackerU over offers from Pitt, Rutgers, Duke, and Temple, among others.

According to 247 Sports, Toney committed to Penn State a few weeks ago but waited to publicly announce until the Lasch Bash.

The Class of 2016 is shaping up to be an impressive one, thanks to Franklin’s recruiting efforts since the year began. Less than 50 days until kickoff.
