The Color Run Returning To Penn State In September

The “Happiest 5K On The Planet” is returning to Penn State this fall. Penn State Homecoming is bringing the Color Run back to Happy Valley on September 7 for the third year in a row.

You can register online starting July 31 at TheColorRun.com and save $5 on your registration fee with the code “PennState.” As part of the Shine Tour, color run participants will receive a limited edition participant kit, including: a custom 2015 tee, gold finishers medal, tricolor headband with blingin’ silver stitching, special edition SHINE pack, classic color pack, new gold foil tattoos, and more.

The Color Run has become incredibly popular since its inception in January 2012, hosting 300 events in more than 50 countries in 2014. Though a for-profit event, each Color Run partners with a charity to raise awareness and funds.

Last year after runners crossed the finish line they were greeted with a rainbow-bright festival, bumping music, refreshments, and general celebration over their 5-kilometer accomplishment. Here’s our video recap of last year’s event:
