Dan + Shay To Headline Homecoming 2015 Concert

Penn State Homecoming announced today that country duo Dan + Shay will kick off Homecoming Week on Sunday, Oct. 4 with a free concert. In the past Homecoming has teamed up with SPA to bring artists like Childish Gambino and Matt & Kim to Happy Valley to kick off the Homecoming festivities.

Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney met in 2012 signed with Warner Bros. Records in Nashville that year. The first song the duo wrote together was put on hold for the Rascal Flatts. Smyers is a Pennsylvania native and went to North Allegheny Senior High School before going to Carnegie Mellon to study finance.

The duo was on tour with Blake Shelton and Hunter Hayes last year and were nominated for three musical awards, including Vocal Duo of the Year.

Dan + Shay will start their concert after the annual dance competition, both of which are free to all students. Weather permitting, the concert will be held outside the HUB.
