Football Run-On Tryouts To Be Held In September

If you’re one of the many full-time students at Penn State who didn’t come to school with a football scholarship, we have good news for you. An informational meeting about run-on tryouts will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 5:45 p.m. in the Lasch Squad Room. There, you can learn more about the process from members of the Athletic Training, Compliance, and Football staffs, and can sign up for the official tryouts which will be tentatively held on Sept. 15 at a time to be decided. You must attend the informational meeting in order to tryout.

Who knows, with the right mix of talent and hard work, you might just be the next Von Walker — a former walk-on who was later awarded a scholarship and named team captain.

The season kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 5 as the Nittany Lions travel to Temple, but maybe one day soon you’ll see your name on the scoreboard.
