DOTD: James Franklin Sends Gift To Media Member Wearing Michigan Shirt

If you’re a reporter, you usually don’t wear apparel from a rival school to another team’s press conference. Especially if you go to a Penn State media event wearing a Michigan shirt. That’s exactly what Fox Sports reporter Clay Travis did, and head coach James Franklin took notice.

While streaming a Penn State football interview via Periscope, Franklin noticed Travis’ choice of clothing and couldn’t let someone wear a Big Ten rival’s apparel at his press conference. So coach Franklin sent Travis a gift to show him his mistake.

It’s difficult to understand why he would wear a Michigan shirt to a Penn State press conference, but at least James Franklin fixed his mistake. Now that Travis has some new Penn State gear, he’ll be more prepared for the next time he covers a Penn State event.

It just goes to show that you shouldn’t wear another Big Ten school’s clothing at a Penn State football media event. If you do, you could be walking out with some new Penn State gear, compliments of James Franklin himself. Wait, maybe that’s a good thing.
