THON 2016 Theme Announced: “Believe Beyond Boundaries”

As per Homecoming tradition, the THON Executive Committee announced the theme for THON 2016 before the start of the Homecoming parade: “Believe Beyond Boundaries.”

“This year, we chose ‘Believe Beyond Boundaries’ because the THON community is not defined or limited by any one set of circumstances,” said THON 2016 Public Relations Director Lily Beatty. “The THON community is capable of pushing past the challenges and circumstances we encounter even when they feel impossible to surpass. We believe that together, we can look beyond the boundaries before us and overcome them as a community.”

“Believe Beyond Boundaries” is the most alliteration a theme has seen in the history of THON, and is a bit of a tongue twister. Go ahead and try it for yourself.

Revealing the theme is always a major milestone in the journey toward THON. Now that the theme is released, steam will begin to pick up and activities like the THON 5k, 100 days until THON, and the family carnival are just around the corner. The agenda is, however, slightly different from years passed in that the first canning weekend already took place in September, and the second canning weekend was suspended for safety concerns.

Keep an eye out for the THON float displaying the theme during the Homecoming parade tonight. We dance in 133!
