Penn State Vs. Northwestern To Kickoff At Noon

The Penn State football program announced on Saturday that next weekend’s matchup against Northwestern on November 7 will kick off at 12 p.m., Eastern time. The game will broadcast on ESPNU.

The Wildcats started the season off 5-0 and were steadily climbing up the polls before two blowouts at the hands of Big Ten foes Michigan (38-0) and Iowa (40-10). Northwestern snuck by a shaky Nebraska team last week, and just had a bye week to prepare extra for the Nittany Lions.

Saturday’s win against Illinois gave Penn State its first 6-0 home start since 2008, but the Nittany Lions are 1-2 on the road with losses coming to the recently undefeated Temple Owls and the season-long No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes.

Last time these two teams met, Northwestern spoiled Penn State’s Homecoming and its 4-0 start to the season.

This will be Penn State’s fifth noon kick this season. Fans traveling to the game, keep in mind you’re heading across time zones — so if a noon kick isn’t early enough for you, rejoice in the rare 11 a.m. local-time kickoff.
