Penn State football Twitter has been full of pictures and videos of the coaching staff visiting some high-profile recruits. Defensive coordinator Bob Shoop hinted that he spent a day in the Pittsburgh area.
And defensive positional coaches Sean Spencer and Charles Huff let Maryland know that they were taking over its recruiting footprint.
Soon after, high school recruits began sharing pictures of the coaches visiting their homes. Included in the bunch were Michigan native and kicker Quinn Nordin, recent New York State Champion Jake Zembiec, and South Carolina quarterback commit Brandon McIlwain.
All of the pictures are nice and posed, and it looks like the coaches sat down for a nice dinner with the recruits and their families. With all of the tweets spreading around the Penn State community, recruits like five-star defensive end Shane Simmons began to feel left out. So, James Franklin and Charles Huff blew away the other appearances with a Zombie Nation party in the Simmons household.
That’s as close to a Beaver Stadium environment as the entrance of a home can get. As National Signing Day approaches and the staff focuses on retaining its commits, it’s clear that it’s going all-out to keep them a part of Nittany Nation.
