Redshirt Freshman DL Kamonte Carter Dismissed From Program

Penn State loses yet another player by way of dismissal.

The team announced that redshirt freshman defensive tackle Kamonte Carter was removed from the program earlier today via an official statement: “Kam Carter was informed on April 21 that he is no longer a member of the Penn State football team for a violation of team rules. We appreciate Kam’s contributions to the program and wish him success in the future.”

The young defensive tackle made strides this offseason in terms of production in the weight room, but there was still plenty of work to be done. With the emergence of fellow redshirt freshman Kevin Givens among others, Carter wasn’t expected to make much of an impact on the field. Regardless, his loss thins the team’s depth at the defensive tackle position. Carter was a four-star prospect coming out of high school, and held offers from schools like Maryland, Michigan, and Pitt.

Tight end Brent Wilkerson was dismissed from the program three days ago after being suspended indefinitelyLions247 first reported the news.
