Urban Market Grocery Store Is Rise At State College’s First Tenant
State College recently bid a tragic farewell to Kildare’s, but all is not lost for East College-dwelling food lovers. Rise at State College, the new 12-story building occupying 532 East College Ave., announced its first tenant: a grocery store named Urban Market.
First reported by the Centre Daily Times, Urban Market will amass a large 16,500 square feet in the multi-purpose building. The first and second floors of Rise will feature retail and amenity shops, the third and fourth floors will be graduate and professional housing, and the top eight floors will be student housing.
According to a release, Urban Market will sell a slew of locally-sourced produce and meats, grab-and-go food items, prepared meals, and will feature care package delivery all year. Residents of Rise at State College will get a 15 percent storewide discount on the weekends.
“While there are off-campus housing options in State College, this development will raise the bar in terms of both finishes and amenities, creating a new class of housing designed for, but not limited to, students who want to make the most of their college years,” CA Ventures Chief Operating Officer J.J. Smith said in a release.
