Student Charged With Public Masturbation Outside Penn State Business Building

by Geoff Rushton

A 21-year-old man is facing charges after police say he was seen masturbating in a vehicle on the Penn State campus.

Zhenghao Zhu was charged with open lewdness, a misdemeanor, and two counts of disorderly conduct.

At around noon on Sept. 19, Penn State Police responded to a report of a man masturbating in a black Jeep in the vehicle turnaround in front of the entrance to the Business Building, near the corner of Shortlidge Road and East Park Avenue on the north side of campus.

Witnesses provided officers with a video of the male masturbating in the Jeep as well as a photo of the vehicle’s license plate, which was confirmed to be registered to Zhu, according to court documents.

Zhu is listed as a Penn State undergraduate student in the university’s directory. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 19.
