Illadelph Smoke Shop Opens Up On Heister Street

Nationally acclaimed head shop Illadelph is bringing its top-notch glass to State College.

The brand opened up its tenth location on Heister Street right above Michael Pilato’s famous mural. Four in South Florida, along with one in South Jersey, Chicago, Nebraska, Philadelphia, and Westchester to complement the State College location, with the Jersey location serving as the first spot opened by management.

General manager Cody Rector said the decision to open up shop in State College was an easy one. “You guys don’t have any real good ones around here,” he said of the area’s glass competition. Truth be told, Rector’s glass display already puts Illadelph ahead of the competition. The former gym-turned-head shop features an expansive selection featuring hundreds of different brands. Rector says opening day was a complete success and that he expects a great deal of success for the business down the road. “We’re super stoked,” Rector said. “We’re killing it already, and we’re excited to bring good glass to this community.”

The preparation process was extensive, but all that hard work is paying dividends. “We were working non-stop for weeks to get this place in order,” said employee Dave Rozenfeld. “All we could think about was how excited everybody would be once we finally got this place opened up.” They said there was wall-to-wall traffic throughout the grand opening after the staff remained awake until the early hours of the morning preparing. “We stayed up until six in the morning the night of the grand opening,” said employee Dean Pritchard. By all accounts, the hours spent preparing were well worth it. Rector also says he’s looking to add some new members to the Illadelph team.

Stop on by to Illadelph and check out what the guys have to offer!
