Jeff Johnson To Speak As Keynote Speaker At Hip Hop Summit

Journalist Jeff Johnson will feature as the keynote speaker at the Hip Hop Summit on Saturday, October 7 in the HUB. Johnson, who hosts “Rap City” on BET, will speak at 2 p.m. as part of a full day of events hosted by the Paul Robeson Cultural Center.

The first round of workshops during the summit will begin at 11:30 a.m., and hip hop artists like Muhibb Dyer, Rebel Diaz, and Travis Salters will all host workshops throughout the event.

After the first round of workshops and Johnson’s keynote, another set of workshops will take place from 3-5 p.m., and the artists who ran the workshops will hold a small concert starting at 7 p.m.

The theme of this summit is not necessarily confined to hip hop, with most of the workshops focusing on social activism and taking action in local communities around the world. The workshops will include training and lectures on the topic.

Register in advance to attend the summit here, or you can sign up at the door at 11 a.m. Saturday.

He covered Penn State football and served as an editor for Onward State from 2018 until his graduation. Mikey is from Bedminster, New Jersey, so naturally, he spends lots of time yelling about all the best things his home state has to offer. Mikey also loves to play golf, but he sucks at it because golf is really hard.
