Penn State Moves Up To No. 3 In AP Poll

After staying put at No. 4 for three weeks, Penn State rose in the rankings following its win over conference opponent Northwestern Saturday.

The Nittany Lions secured the No. 3 spot in this week’s AP Poll — surpassing Oklahoma after the Sooners’ loss at home to then-unranked Iowa State.

Alabama once again held on to the top spot this week and Clemson stayed ahead of the Nittany Lions at No. 2 as each team beat an unranked opponent.

The ranking is Penn State’s highest since November of 2008, when Joe Paterno’s squad was No. 3 heading into a matchup with Iowa.

The Nittany Lions also rose up to No. 3 in this week’s Coaches Poll.

Maybe he finally opened that sports bar named after one of his photos, the Blurry Zamboni. Or he might just be eating chicken tenders and couch surfing. Anything’s possible.
