Former Bachelorette Contestant James McCoy Taylor Performs At THON

Best known for his time on JoJo’s season of the Bachelorette, James McCoy Taylor made an appearance at THON Saturday afternoon. Taylor played an original songs as well as a mashup of covers during his performance. After JoJo broke his heart in 2016, Taylor turned to music and soon after released his album “Can’t Stop.”

Taking the stage, Taylor was impressed with the turnout of THON and how big of an event it is every year. As many THON performers do, Taylor didn’t waste his opportunity to start a “We Are” chant. Taylor’s appearance at THON was his first trip to State College, and what better place to get in your first “We Are” chant than THON?

Taylor performed mashups of country songs including “Chicken Fried” by Zac Brown Band and “Mean” by Taylor Swift. He also strayed away from his country roots to belt out an *NSYNC song. All of the dancers tuned in to sing “I Want it That Way” along with him.

The crowd was surprised when Taylor announced he would be playing a new song, and it included rapping. Everyone was impressed with the Luke Bryan-esque country rap and overall enjoyed the pseudo-celebrity’s performance. A versatile performance by Taylor kept the dancers and all attendees engaged and enthusiastic.
