Lion Ambassadors To Host Senior Send-Off

The end is in sight for this year’s class of graduating seniors as they prepare to say their final farewells to four years — or more — well spent in Happy Valley.

To commemorate this major life milestone and help those graduating cope with the inevitable, the Penn State Lion Ambassadors will host their annual Senior Send-Off from 1-4 p.m. Friday, April 26 at the Hintz Family Alumni Center.

Those in attendance can expect to be entertained during the three-hour event with free food, a ferris wheel, giveaways, and live music. Members of the Penn State Alumni Association will also be in attendance, offering plenty of resources to seniors that they can take with them as they enter the daunting and exciting post-college era of their lives.

In past years, guest speakers have also made appearances at the Senior Send-Off to congratulate soon-to-be graduates and wish them well in their future endeavors.

Although moving on is bittersweet, the Send-Off is designed to add a little fun to the process of saying goodbye. Let’s face it — seniors deserve some free food and wholesome fun after all those years of paying tuition, trudging to 8 a.m. classes, and cramming for at least eight finals weeks.

Rory Pelella

Rory is a senior from Binghamton, New York majoring in Spanish and journalism. She's been bleeding blue and white ever since her older siblings decided to create a family dynasty in Happy Valley in 2006. So, as you can imagine, she loves absolutely everything Penn State (especially the Cheese Shoppe downtown). She's also a die-hard Yankees, Knicks, and Giants fan (it's brutal), and would do anything for a good old fashioned New York slice. Feel free to email her at [email protected] or follow her on twitter @rorypelella.
