Modern Family’s Ty Burrell Reminds Penn State Students To ‘Mask Up Or Pack Up’

Penn State alumnus and famous actor Ty Burrell reminded students to “Mask Up Or Pack Up” on Friday.

Burrell was featured on Penn State’s Instagram story in a three-part, Cameo-style video.

Burell begins the video by introducing himself and using the slogan “Mask Up Or Pack Up,” which is part of Penn State’s latest public health campaign.

“20% of you say you won’t be wearing a mask this fall,” Burrell said. “If that’s the case, there’s a high probability that 100% of you won’t be learning in person.”

The video ends with Burrell pleading for students to “please, please put on a mask,” followed by a classic “We Are!” chant with his mask on.

Burrell is best known for playing Phil Dunphy in ABC’s Modern Family. He is a two-time Emmy winner and nine-time nominee for the “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series” award for his role. He is also known for his roles in Black Hawk Down, Finding Dory, Dawn of the Dead, and many Broadway shows.

Burrell earned a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from Penn State and was a member of the Theatre 100 Company during that time.
