Penn State Women’s Soccer Alum Kaleigh Riehl Loaned To Paris FC

Former Penn State women’s soccer star Kaleigh Riehl is headed to France to join Paris FC, the club announced Friday.

As part of a loan from the National Women’s Soccer League’s Sky Blue FC, she’ll remain in Paris until February 2021. With Paris FC, Riehl will play in Division 1 Féminine, France’s top women’s soccer league.

Riehl made one appearance for Sky Blue FC in the NWSL Challenge Cup this summer. She joins a long list of names from the NWSL, including Alex Morgan and Tobin Heath, in making the move to Europe during the coronavirus pandemic.

Sky Blue acquired Riehl with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2020 NWSL College Draft.

Riehl began her career with the Nittany Lions in 2015, helping the team capture a national title while earning All-Big Ten second-team honors as well as making the Big Ten All-Freshman Team.

By the end of her collegiate career, she broke the NCAA record for all-time minutes played by a position player with 8,847 minutes. She also ranks third all-time in program history with 101 starts and appearances for the Nittany Lions.
