Penn State To Host Student & Family Virtual Town Hall October 4

Penn State will host a virtual town hall at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 4 for students and their families to answer questions on the coronavirus pandemic.

The event is part of Penn State’s modified Parents and Families Weekend.

During the hour-long town hall, attendees can ask questions regarding the university’s return to campus and its ongoing response to the virus.

To date, Penn State has reported more than 2,100 student coronavirus cases at University Park. The university reports its testing data twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays through its COVID-19 Dashboard.

Provost Nick Jones and Vice President for Student Affairs Damon Sims will lead the event alongside interim College of Medicine Dean Dr. Kevin Black and Kelly Wolgast, the director of Penn State’s Coronavirus Operations Control Center (COCC).

Students and families may anonymously submit their questions through an online form. The event will be livestreamed and later archived for repeat viewings.

The October 4 town hall will be the sixth of its kind since the coronavirus pandemic began and the second of the fall semester. The university most recently hosted a session on September 23 to answer questions from faculty and staff.
