Trace McSorley’s Internet Stardom Continues To Grow

If you’re not on the Trace McSorley side of TikTok by now, what are you doing?
Ever since the former Penn State football star quarterback was featured in a viral TikTok trend last week, he’s just gotten more and more popular. The trend is based around the Matty Fresh’s hit “Trace McSorley,” and even the NFL’s official TikTok account gave the trend a whirl.
The Ravens’ official account has now posted its own video, which has an appearance from McSorley himself. The video has already amassed more than three million views and 600,000 likes.

“Rumor has it, he’s staring,” the Dallas Mavericks’ official account said in the comment section. The NFL even added a hearty “LET’S GOOO!!” for good measure.
The trend has gotten even wilder than just the Ravens posting a video. When ESPN insider Adam Schefter tweeted on Wednesday that Lamar Jackson missed practice due to a knee injury, the replies were filled with McSorley memes and copypastas.
Most of the Tweets replies contained this emoji-ridden text with lyrics from the Matty Fresh song.

One of the top replies under Ian Rapoport’s Tweet announcing that he was suspended from appearing on-air was a McSorley joke, too.
One TikTok user even took the trend to new heights by writing in Trace McSorley on what appeared to be their official mail-in ballot for the presidential election. Is he the 2020 version of Harambe, who earned more than 15,000 votes in 2016?

Although voting for a former Penn State quarterback might be a little bit too far, we’re excited to see just how far McSorley’s stardom can go.
