Micah Parsons, LaVar Arrington To Host Virtual Penn State-Ohio State Tailgate

Two Linebacker U legends are coming together to provide a unique virtual tailgating experience for Penn State football fans.

Micah Parsons and LaVar Arrington will host their first-ever “St1x C1ty Saturday” event via Facebook live this Halloween for the Nittany Lions’ showdown against Ohio State. The two announced their new venture through a Facebook video Sunday night.

“We’re gonna view the game, we’re gonna give our expert analysis and opinions on what’s going on,” Arrington said. “And maybe talk about a couple things like the questions that you have, get you a few answers, ideas, opinions, assumptions, estimates, all that good stuff!”

The event is slated to start at 7:25 p.m., just a few minutes ahead of kickoff. Tickets are available on Facebook for $3.99. Although details are only set for this Saturdays’ game, the duo plan on hosting live streams for the remainder of Penn State’s season.

Parsons, who likely would have played this season if not for the coronavirus pandemic, finished his career in Happy Valley as an all-time great linebacker. A 109-tackle sophomore campaign earned him All-American honors and a defensive MVP award in the Cotton Bowl Classic. He was also named the Butkus-Fitzgerald Linebacker of the Year.

Arrington had a legendary career playing for Penn State as well. He was a first-team All-American in 1998 and a consensus first-team All-American in 1999. Arrington was also a finalist for the prestigious Heisman Trophy in the ’99 season but instead won the Chuck Bednarik, Dick Butkus, and Lambert Awards.

If you don’t tune in the St1x C1ty stream, you can still catch the Nittany Lions’ showdown at 7:30 p.m. on ABC. College GameDay will also air from Happy Valley starting at 9 a.m. Saturday.
