Penn State Lacrosse Announces Captains For 2021 Season

Penn State lacrosse has named attackman Mac O’Keefe and defenseman Nick Cardile its captains for the upcoming 2021 season.

Both O’Keefe and Cardile were captains last season as seniors. They each decided to return to the team after the NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility to seniors due to the coronavirus pandemic.

O’Keefe led the team in goals last year with 22, and was second in points and assists, behind Grant Ament in both categories. He also was the leading shooter on the team, with 54 shots.

Cardile was a key leader for the defense during the short five-game season last spring. However, he netted two goals as well and proved he can be effective on both sides of the field. The duo hope to lead the Nittany Lions to another successful season, which should hopefully last more than five games this time around.
