Penn State Hockey’s Alex Limoges Named Preseason All-Big Ten First Team

Penn State hockey senior captain Alex Limoges was named to the preseason All-Big Ten first team Monday morning.

Limoges was the only Nittany Lion to earn conference preseason honors for the 2020-21 season.

Limoges was an All-Big Ten honorable mention last season. The Virginia native ranked sixth in the conference with 32 points (11 goals, 21 assists) in 30 games played, and averaged 1.07 points per game, landing him second in the conference overall and 26 nationally. In Big Ten games only, his average points per game was minimally lower, at 1.05 per game in 22 games. Limoges tied for second in league only games with 23 points (nine goals, 14 assists.)

During the 2019-20 season, Limoges became the eighth Nittany Lion in the program’s history to hit the 100-point mark. The forward enters his senior season with 103 points, leading all returning Big Ten players and ranking fifth nationally. He currently sits seventh on Penn State’s all-time points list.

In addition to Limoges many accolades, his 41 career goals are the second-most overall among active Big Ten players entering the upcoming season, ranking him fifth nationally and eighth all-time with the Nittany Lions.

Limoges will lead the team this coming season as captain starting November 19, facing Minnesota on the road for a two-game series.
