Shaka Toney Accepts Reese’s Senior Bowl Invite

Penn State football defensive end Shaka Toney accepted an invitation to this year’s Reese’s Senior Bowl Tuesday.

Although Toney is the first Nittany Lion to accept an invite this year, Penn State is no stranger to the Senior Bowl. In 2019, defensive tackle Robert Windsor and linebacker Cam Brown starred, while quarterback Trace McSorley and safety Amani Oruwariye joined in 2018.

So far this season, the Philadelphia native leads Penn State’s defense with eight total tackles. He’s also racked up two sacks, landed on the Nagurski Award watch list, and was named a team captain.

Each year, the Senior Bowl gives college football prospects a chance to show off one last time before the NFL Draft. This year’s game will be played on January 30, 2021, in Mobile, Alabama.
