Report: Lamar Stevens Signs Two-Way Contract With Cleveland Cavaliers

Just minutes after the NBA Draft, Penn State men’s basketball star Lamar Stevens has reportedly signed a two-way contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

The two-way deal will allow Stevens to split time in the G-League and the NBA roster.

The Philadelphia native established himself as one of the best players in program history during his four years in Happy Valley. Stevens averaged 16.3 points, 6.5 rebounds per game, and finished with 2,207 career points, just six points behind Talor Battle for the all-time program record. Additionally, he finished No. 4 on Penn State’s all-time rebounding list.

Stevens earned first-team All-Big Ten honors from the media during his junior and senior seasons, as well as the same honor from the conference’s coaches during his senior season. After his junior year, he earned second-team All-Big Ten honors from the conference’s coaches.

He served as a leader for the Nittany Lions both on and off the court, and certainly had his fair share of highlight-reel plays.

After leading Penn State in scoring the past two seasons, Stevens will now kickstart his NBA career with the Cavaliers. If he spends time on the official roster, he’d join the Dallas Mavericks’ Josh Reaves as the second Nittany Lion on an NBA roster.
