Penn State Hoops’ Season Opener Set For 1 P.M. November 25

Penn State men’s basketball will begin its season with an early game, Penn State Athletics confirmed Friday.

The Jim Ferry era will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25 when Penn State hosts Drexel. The game will be streamed on BTN+, which is available for a small fee.

Penn State women’s basketball will also get its season underway on Wednesday. The Lady Lions will host Coppin State at 6 p.m., also on BTN+.

Drexel plays in the Colonial Athletic Association, a typical one-bid conference. The Dragons went 6-12 in conference play last season, and 14-19 overall.

In its fourth game of the 2019-2020 campaign, Drexel faced Big Ten opposition in Rutgers. The Dragons played the Scarlet Knights close, losing 62-57. Penn State has never lost to the Philadelphia school, going 6-0 all time.

The Lady Lions will also be favored in their season opener. Coppin State had a rough campaign last winter, going 3-26 overall. The Bald Eagles play in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), where they played to a 3-13 record in 2019-2020.
