Nittany Lion Wrestling Club To Host Live Freestyle Event November 24

Cael Sanderson and the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club are set to host a live freestyle event on Tuesday, November 24.

The freestyle event will be the third streamed event the NLWC has hosted in the last three months.

As before, the event will take place at 8 p.m. and be streamed through the NLWC’s Rofkin channel.

The freestyle event will feature one of the most stacked cards of the year. The slate of matches includes former Penn State stars like David Taylor and Zain Retherford, along with some current grapplers like Nick Lee and Carter Starocci. The NLWC’s freestyle card also features another high-profile women’s match, as Penn State wrestling continues to push for the growth of women’s wrestling.

After commentating the previous two freestyle events, Taylor will headline the card against Gabe Dean in a battle between past NCAA champions.

Former NCAA champion Bo Nickal was originally supposed to square off against Nate Jackson but will not participate due to precautionary reasons. Micheal Beard will take his place.

The full slate of matchups includes:

  • Nick Nevils (NLWC) vs. Mauro Correnti
  • Jen Page (NLWC) vs. Lauren Mason
  • Max Dean vs. CJ Brucki
  • Joe Lee (NLWC) vs. Zach Hartman
  • Franklin Gomes (NLWC) vs. Borislav Novachkov
  • Carter Starroci (NLWC) vs. Chance Marstellar
  • Thomas Gilman (NLWC) vs. Frank Perrelli
  • Nick Lee (NLWC) vs. Brandon Wright
  • Micheal Beard (NLWC) vs. Nate Jackson
  • Zain Retherford (NLWC) vs. Reece Humphrey
  • David Taylor (NLWC) vs. Gabe Dean
