Penn State Celebrating Sixth #GivingTuesday

Penn State will participate in its sixth #GivingTuesday on Tuesday, December 1. The global event celebrates giving back, and this year’s event at Penn State will feature more than 125 campaigns to support scholarships, research, programs, and more.

Like years past, gifts made on #GivingTuesday will aid the “Greater Penn State for 21st Century Excellence,” which centers on Penn State’s ability to support students regardless of financial status and create experiences that go beyond the classroom.

Student groups will be hosting social media campaigns on the Raise Penn State social platforms. The university’s #GivingTuesday website will provide updates on the fundraising process throughout the day.

This year, supporters can choose to make an early gift or sign up to become a champion by creating a personal fundraising page to benefit any active #GivingTuesday campaign. Graduates of the last decade (GOLD) who make a gift of five dollars or more to a campaign will receive a 1:1 match from the university for up to $100.

Elsewhere at Penn State, THON is getting in on the #GivingTuesday action, too. The organization is encouraging folks to donate to its 2021 fundraising campaign, and Johnson & Johnson will match every fourth donation for up to $100.
