Nittany Lions Support THON Through NFL’s ‘My Cause, My Cleats’ Initiative

Once again, select Penn Staters in the NFL are using their platforms to support THON this season.

Through the league’s “My Cause, My Cleats” initiative, seven Penn Staters — Trace McSorley, Mike Gesicki, Jesse James, Carl Nassib, Dan Chisena, Sam Ficken, and Cam Brown — are wearing THON-themed cleats throughout Week 13 to support the annual dance marathon.

Gesicki and McSorley notably supported the organization last year as well. The former also raffled off his cleats to directly support THON’s 2020 fundraising campaign last year.

Later in the year, most players’ cleats will be up for auction to raise money for their respective causes. Keep an eye out for promotions once next week’s games wrap up.

For one week each season, the NFL allows its players to wear specially designed cleats to support charitable causes of their choosing as part of its “My Cause, My Cleats” initiative. In years past, other Penn Staters like Saquon Barkley have all rocked THON-themed cleats, too.
