Penn State Extends Remote Period Walk-Up Testing Hours

Penn State is extending its hours for walk-up coronavirus testing during the fall remote period and break starting December 9, the university announced Monday.

Walk-up coronavirus testing at Hintz Family Alumni Center will now stretch from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays through January 18. The service is available to all students and employees listed in Penn State’s Return To Work database.

Walk-up testing previously opened at noon.

“The extension of walk-up testing hours at University Park campus is designed to allow more individuals to be tested and prevent people from waiting outdoors as temperatures cool,” Penn State said in a statement.

Testing hours and availability for other services will remain unchanged, according to the university.

Penn State students still living on campus are required to complete weekly coronavirus testing. They’ll be notified through weekly emails to get tested at Hintz Family Alumni Center.

Although Penn State’s random surveillance testing is suspended for now, University Health Services will continue providing symptomatic on-demand testing for those who need it. You can schedule an appointment at any time through myUHS.

Penn State’s quarantine and isolation spaces at Eastview Terrace will remain open during the university’s remote period.
