Happy Valley Improv To Introduce Virtual Classes For Beginners

Happy Valley Improv, State College’s premier long-form improv comedy group, is bringing virtual improv classes for comics of all levels to kick off the new year.

The youth program will run from 4 to 5:15 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning on January 13 and will continue for four weeks. Registration is $50 for students who sign up by January 6 and increases to $75 for students who register later.

“We want to provide a fun way to connect with others, even during the pandemic,” said James Tierney, one of the four founders of Happy Valley Improv.

The adult class, Improv Level A, will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning on January 12, lasting for four weeks. The class, led by longtime Happy Valley Improv member and instructor Rich de Luca, will teach the basics of improv in a fun and supportive environment. Registration for the class is $80.

Both programs will be completely virtual and culminate in a showcase via Zoom for friends and family.

More information about the programs can be found on Happy Valley Improv’s website.
