Move-Out Times Available For Students Not Returning For Spring Semester

Although Penn State’s on-campus dorms will remain closed through mid-February, students not returning to campus this spring can now schedule appointments to access their belongings and move out, the university announced Tuesday morning.

Students can make appointments through Penn State Housing’s eLiving portal under the “My Info” dropdown. You won’t receive any confirmation email when selecting a spot, so be sure to write it down for safekeeping.

Move-out will adhere to the following schedule, and students’ Penn State IDs will be activated for their specific time slot only. Housing said evening hours are unfortunately not available.

  • Monday, January 4 — Friday, January 8: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, January 9 — Sunday, January 10: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Monday, January 11 — Friday, January 15: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, January 16: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

When moving out, you’ll need to remove all personal items from your dorm and complete a check-out form delivered to each room. You’ll also need to take out your trash, leave your completed form on your desk, and lock your door. Don’t forget to return your key, either.

Housing said its scheduled move-out times hope to prioritize safety by limiting the number of folks in each building. Students moving out are advised to bring only one person to help and shy away from arriving early or staying later than planned.

Obviously, those who’ve been exposed to the coronavirus or are in quarantine should not come back to campus.

Already moved out but forget to return your key? You can mail it to Housing by Friday, January 15 to avoid a fee.
