Penn State Parking, Transit Changes In Effect Through February

Penn State announced Tuesday that changes to parking regulations and transit services will remain in effect through early February.

These adjustments come following the university’s announcement that the spring semester will begin remotely on January 19 with in-person learning resuming on February 15.

The Penn State Transportation Services Office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Parking Regulations

Students who have permits for East, HUB, and Nittany Decks must scan their permit’s barcode at entrance and exit lane machines. Permit holders shouldn’t take a ticket.

Faculty and staff won’t have access to parking areas with a Commuter or Evening/Weekend permit. They can visit the Transportation Services Office to purchase an upgrade permit for $27 per month for Commuter permit holders and $31 per month for Evening/Weekend permit holders. The upgrade permit will be valid for East, Eisenhower, or Nittany Deck, depending on which location is selected.

Access to additional parking areas for faculty/staff core parking permits (Brown, Green, Orange, Red, Silver, Yellow) will be extended through Friday, February 5.

Available lots include:

  • East Deck
  • Eisenhower Deck
  • HUB Deck
  • Nittany Deck
  • Red A
  • Brown 11 (White Course Apartments student parking area)
  • Lot 22 (Eastview Terrace student parking area)
  • Lot 42 (Nittany Apartments student parking area)
  • Lot 81 (South/Pollock student parking area)

CATA Services

CATA will continue to operate on its Reduced Service schedule through February 13. Full services will resume February 15.

The White Loop will not be offered during the spring semester while the Blue Loop, Red Link, and Green Link buses will be available when full service resumes on February 15.
