Quarterback Evan Clark Commits To Penn State As Preferred Walk-On

Penn State football’s quarterback room just got a little bit deeper.

Lancaster, Pennsylvania native Evan Clark announced Sunday he’s coming to Happy Valley as a preferred walk-on run-on quarterback. Clark will be a member of the 2021 recruiting class.

The 6’3″, 215-pound gunslinger played his high school football at Manheim Township High School in Lancaster. He didn’t receive official offers from any schools, according to 247Sports, but showed interest in Robert Morris and Virginia Tech along with Penn State.

Clark played all over both the baseball and football field in high school but started seven games as the varsity quarterback his senior year. He completed 69.5% of his passes for 1,505 yards, 18 touchdowns, and no interceptions. He also logged 31 total tackles, two pass deflections, and an interception on the defensive side of the ball at safety and linebacker.

While it’s possible Clark may switch positions at Penn State, he initially enters a pretty crowded quarterback room. Sean Clifford, Will Levis, Ta’Quan Roberson, Micah Bowers, and Mason Stahl were on the Nittany Lions’ 2020 roster, while recruited field generals like Christian Veilleux join Clark in the 2021 class.
