Report: Penn State Hoops To Resume Practicing January 11

Penn State men’s basketball reportedly plans to resume operations on Monday, January 11, following an undisclosed number of positive COVID-19 tests within the program, according to CBS Sports insider Jon Rothstein.

The Nittany Lions paused all team-related activities on January 6 and already postponed scheduled games against Michigan and Rutgers on January 9 and 12, respectively.

Should Rothstein’s report come to fruition, practicing on January 11 should set the team up to play its next scheduled game on Sunday, January 17, at Purdue.

Penn State Athletics did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Rothstein’s report.

To date, five of Penn State’s scheduled games have been postponed due to coronavirus-related concerns, including its season-opener against Drexel. Matchups against Wisconsin and Ohio State were postponed last Saturday and Tuesday, respectively.
