Penn State Men’s Soccer Releases 2021 Schedule

The road back to the NCAA Tournament was made clear on Tuesday for Penn State men’s soccer. Jeff Cook’s side will play a 10-game regular season schedule, with all of its matches within the Big Ten conference.

The season kicks off on Friday, February 19 when Penn State hosts traditional powerhouse Maryland. Following the season opener, the Nittany Lions will head on the road for the first time in 2021 to face Rutgers on February 23.

Penn State will return home for a Saturday, February 27 contest with Michigan State, before embarking on a quick road spell against Michigan (March 3) and Indiana (March 7).

Cook’s side will begin the second half of the shortened season with a rematch with Rutgers, this time back home at Jeffrey Field, on March 15. Penn State will then head to Evanston to face Northwestern on Friday, March 19.

The Nittany Lions return to Happy Valley for a two game home stint against Ohio State (March 23) and Wisconsin (March 27). The contest with the Badgers, a rematch of the 2019 Big Ten quarterfinals, will be Penn State’s senior day. The Lions will head out on the road one last time before the postseason to play Maryland for the second time of the year on Wednesday, March 31.

Due to the coronavirus, the season remains unpredictable, and all fixtures are subject to change. As of now, there are no official dates for either the Big Ten tournament or the NCAA championships.
