Penn State Lacrosse Ranked No. 7 In Inside Lacrosse Preseason Poll

Penn State men’s lacrosse came in at No. 7 on Inside Lacrosse’s preseason top 20 ranking Tuesday morning.

Penn State is one of two Big Ten teams to be given a top 10 preseason ranking by Inside Lacrosse. Maryland was given a national ranking of No. 2

The Nittany Lions 2020 campaign was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic last season, and the team lost many outstanding players during the offseason. The first name that comes to mind in that department is Grant Ament, who graduated and began his professional career in the Premier Lacrosse League.

This year the Nittany Lions will rely on returning members, including the program’s leading goal-scorer, Mac O’Keefe. Along with the star attackman TJ Malone, Colby Kneese, and Gerard Arceri are all expected to play big roles.

It’s the team’s second top-10 preseason ranking thus far, as the Nittany Lions were given a No. 4 mark by US Lacrosse Magazine earlier this month.

The Nittany Lions’ schedule for the upcoming season has yet to be released.

Staff Predictions: No. 4 Penn State vs. Minnesota

The last time Penn State visited Minnesota was in 2019 when the No. 17 Golden Gophers upset the No. 4 Nittany Lions 31-26.
