Acacia, Beta Sigma Beta Placed On Interim Suspension Following Alleged Gatherings

Penn State’s Acacia and Beta Sigma Beta fraternities were placed on interim suspension Saturday, pending the university’s conduct process.

According to Penn State’s Office of Fraternity and Sorority Compliance, both fraternities hosted gatherings with enough people to break State College’s coronavirus mitigation ordinance and university policies.

Penn State spokesperson Lisa Powers said both fraternities can appeal the interim suspensions.

Earlier this week, Penn State’s Sigma Chi fraternity received a suspension through summer 2024 for hosting guideline-breaking gatherings that resulted in “significant” violations.
