Virtual ‘One Penn State 2025’ Symposium Set For February 10
Penn State will host a symposium on Wednesday, February 10, regarding the university’s “One Penn State 2025” initiative, which aims to promote “lifelong learning, diversity, and inclusion.”
The virtual meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. via Zoom, with Executive Vice President and Provost Nick Jones will make opening remarks. The event will also provide updates on the progress and present opportunities to engage in the initiative.
One Penn State 2025 started under Penn State President Eric Barron’s tenure. Thanks to the initiative, students can retain their Penn State emails after graduating (as long as they are in good standing) and have lifelong access to World Campus courses.
According to its website, One Penn State 2025 has five guiding principles: provide a seamless student experience, scheme curricular coherence, design relevant and responsive programs, engage learners throughout their lifetimes, and achieve the highest level of efficiency of university resources.
The sweeping program is also rethinking many services, including learning and support services throughout all Penn State campuses.
The initiative’s goal is to build on “strong traditions of working as one university to provide world-class education” and to “be a more integrated, flexible, and responsive institution.”
