Izaiah Brockington’s Dunk Against Nebraska Ranked No. 6 On SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays

Penn State men’s basketball star Izaiah Brockington’s slam dunk was the sixth-best play from around the sports world over the weekend.

The junior guard rose up, met a Sam Sessoms lob, and threw down on Nebraska’s Eduardo Andre in the process.

To add insult to injury for the Cornhuskers, Andre was called for a foul on the play. Brockington would convert the three-point play and bring the Nittany Lions within four points.

Penn State was buoyed from Brockington’s poster and mounted a comeback, but it wasn’t enough in an eventual 62-61 defeat. The Philadelphia native scored 11 total points in Sunday afternoon’s upset loss.

Despite being a factor in the highlight reels, the Nittany Lions’ latest defeat gave concern to their NCAA Tournament chances. Many pundits, including CBS Sports Insider Jon Rothstein, argued that Penn State’s chances to go dancing are slim-to-none.

Brockington and Penn State will return to action on Thursday when the Nittany Lions host No. 4 Ohio State. The contest will begin at 8 p.m at the Bryce Jordan Center.
