THON may be virtual, but that isn’t dampening the spirit of the Penn State Alumni Association. As always, there are events going on throughout the nation to help fundraise or otherwise celebrate the weekend.

Of course, this year’s events are mostly over Zoom. If you decide to attend an in-person event, make sure to adhere to social distancing guidelines and wear a mask.

THON Alumni Wars

When: February 14 to the end of THON
Where: Everywhere!

All Penn State alumni can take part in the THON Alumni Wars, a fundraising competition between past captain committees. The event, which is in its inaugural year, has been ongoing this whole week and will continue until the end of THON.

To participate, simply register here and join a team. The winner will be the team that gets the most points, which can be acquired by participating in the fundraising challenge, and the number of teammates present during Zoom activities. For more information, go here.

Penn State Colorado: Fit For THON

When: Saturday from 10-11 a.m. (noon-1 p.m. Eastern Time)
Where: Zoom

The Colorado chapter of the Penn State alumni association will host an hour-long fitness class with all proceeds going to THON on Saturday morning. Hosted by Penn State alumnus and Penn State Colorado Board Member Brandon Roll, the virtual fundraiser will be the first event of the year for the Colorado chapter.

The class will include a full-body warm-up, bodyweight and cardio exercises, and a light cool down with stretching. Participants are encouraged to donate $21, and if you can’t attend you are still encouraged to donate. For more information, go here.

Penn State Triangle Chapter: THON Merchandise Fundraiser

This year, the Penn State Triangle chapter is providing a unique way to donate.

Customized “Penn State THON 2021” apparel is on offer, and a portion of the proceeds will go to THON. You can order anything from hoodies to masks in numerous sizes and colors. For more information, click on this link.
