Lady Lions Reschedule Matchup With No. 25 Rutgers For March 2

After earning its signature win against No. 15 Ohio State this past Wednesday, Penn State women’s basketball will now take the court three more times to end its regular season campaign.

On Friday morning, the Big Ten rescheduled the Lady Lions’ previously canceled road bout against No. 25 Rutgers for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2.

The matchup, which was previously set for January 21, will serve as the latter of a back-to-back series with the Scarlet Knights beginning on Sunday, January 25 at 12:30 p.m. in the Bryce Jordan Center.

Both matchups will be nationally broadcast on the Big Ten Network. Following the two-game stint, the Lady Lions will conclude their regular season on the road against No. 8 Maryland next Saturday, March 6.

Carolyn Kieger’s squad currently sits at 11th in the Big Ten with a 6-10 mark in conference play and a 9-11 overall record. While the Lady Lions fell on a bit of a cold streak and lost four straight, the upset over the Buckeyes could help them close out the regular season with a bang. Wins in their last three contests would help push them to an impressive record above .500.
