Bo Nickal To Serve As Guest Analyst For Big Ten Championships

The Big Ten Network announced expanded coverage details for the Big Ten Wrestling Championships this coming weekend, which will feature a familiar Nittany Lion face in the analyst crew.

Three-time NCAA and Big Ten Champion Bo Nickal will join Ray Flores in State College for on-site coverage of the tournament, while Shane Sparks, Jim Gibbons, and Tim Johnson will broadcast from the network’s Chicago studio.

Trading in the wrestling shoes for the microphone, Nickal will contribute to up to 10 hours of coverage from BTN over the weekend, the most the network has ever done. It will be the first time in the tournament’s history that BTN will cover the championships live for the Saturday sessions.

Nickal can reflect back on his experiences as a wrestler in the tournament, which he won three times, to assist him in covering the toughest conference wrestling tournament in the country. This wouldn’t be the first time a Penn State wrestler left the mat to join a coverage team, as David Taylor was a guest commentator for the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club’s freestyle matches earlier in the year.

The championship coverage will kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 6 at the Bryce Jordan Center. Aside from the regular tournament coverage, BTN+ will also stream individual mat cams throughout the weekend.
