Penn State Women’s Soccer Ranked No. 10 In Week Two Poll

After two wins this past week, Penn State women’s soccer climbed to No. 10 in the United Soccer Coaches poll. This is three spots higher than last week, when the team debuted in this year’s poll at No. 13

The Nittany Lions beat a tough Indiana team 2-1 on Thursday, before dominating Michigan State 3-1 on Sunday. Now at four straight wins, Penn State is tied at the top of the Big Ten conference with Rutgers, the only team to beat the Nittany Lions thus far.

Penn State also featured on the weekly TopDrawerSoccer rankings, coming in at No. 19.

Rutgers was the only other Big Ten team to enter the rankings this week, and is the only team to beat Penn State to date. After a 4-1 start, the Scarlet Knights are at No. 17. Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio State are all receiving votes.

The top five all stays the same for the second week running. Florida State remains at the top of the heap, followed by UNC, UCLA, TCU, and Duke.

No. 10 Penn State only plays one game this week, a Saturday clash on the road against Ohio State. The Buckeyes are off to a good start in Big Ten play, placing in the top half of the standings with a 2-1-1 record. Kickoff in Columbus is set for 3 p.m., and the game will be streamed on BTN+.
