President Barron To Host Pandemic Response Webcasts

Penn State President Eric Barron will host multiple webcasts this spring to provide updates on Penn State’s response to the pandemic, the university announced Tuesday.

The first webcast will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31. Information on how to watch the first webcast and future webcasts will be released at a later date.

The webcasts will discuss topics including the impact of the pandemic on Penn State, the university’s plans to substantially expand in-person courses this summer, and plans for a full on-campus experience in the fall, as announced last month.

The university will provide flexible instruction modes this summer, and the fall semester will “more closely resemble” traditional semesters while offering a “full range” of web-based classes. Penn State said its planning for the fall semester remains flexible and would be subject to change in response to the coronavirus pandemic’s trajectory, “if necessary.”

Students and community members can anonymously submit their pandemic-related comments, questions, and topics wished to be discussed through an online feedback form.

As always, Penn State’s latest coronavirus-related information can be found through its dedicated website.
