[Photo Story] Warm Weather Brings Spring Break Vibes To Penn State’s Campus

The first signs of spring made an appearance in Happy Valley during what would have been spring break week. Temperatures soared from below freezing to the pleasant mid-60s, bringing a once-dead stagnant seemingly back to life.

Although we’re willing to bet most folks would rather be on a beach somewhere, students all over campus made sure to soak up the sun on Old Main and the HUB lawns.

Other students opted to head to the Duck Pond to catch some rays.

Many groups played some socially-distant Spikeball on the wide-open grass.

Others opted to reminisce on football season and sling around the ol’ pigskin.

Having “class outside” is way easier when you can bring the classroom with you.

Couples took advantage of the gorgeous weather, opting for quieter places to enjoy their time together.

Who said the beautiful weather was only for humans to enjoy?

Downtown State College livened up a bit, too. From skateboarders to hustling students, the borough was bustling with activity.

According to AccuWeather, temperatures on campus are expected to return to the 40s by the weekend. But this week’s pleasant change of pace is a good reminder that spring is coming…eventually.
