Podward State: Season 4, Episode 8

Now that’s hockey talk!

On this episode of Podward State, hosts Matthew Paolizzi and Samuel Brungo are joined once again by guest host Jordan Mansberger and Onward State men’s hockey writer Frankie Marzano.

To start off his podcast debut, Marzano tells us about the unusual season for head coach Guy Gadowsky and the team, including a month-long break due to COVID-19 cases. He chats about the emergence of goalie Oskar Autio as a replacement for Peyton Jones, the streakiness of the Nittany Lions’ play, and some of the new faces that have impressed so far.

Before Marzano leaves us, he gives us a quick look at what we can expect this coming weekend for the 2021 Big Ten Hockey Tournament and the team’s chances of making the NCAA Tournament. Penn State will match up against Notre Dame at noon on Saturday, March 14.

Finally, to close out the show, Mansberger gives us a little preview of what to expect during Penn State men’s basketball’s postseason.

Podward State is an Onward State-produced podcast that will release weekly episodes this spring on Spotify and YouTube. Each features discussions about all things Penn State, including sports, news, student life, and entertainment, and more.
