Penn State Hockey’s Alex Limoges Named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention
Penn State hockey’s senior captain continues to rack up accolades as the 2020-21 hockey season comes to a close.
Alex Limoges was named an All-Big Ten honorable mention Tuesday afternoon. This is the second consecutive season that Limoges has earned the honor.
The senior from Winchester, Virginia led the Nittany Lions in goals (10), assists (12), and points (22) this season. Limoges scored at a point per game average, which was the seventh-best mark in the Big Ten. Limoges also notched five points in two games during Penn State’s run in the 2021 Big Ten Tournament.
Limoges, also known as “Limo” by his teammate and coaches, is one of the best players to ever lace up the skates for the Nittany Lions. He is currently third on the all-time points and goals lists, as well as fourth on the all-time assist list in program history. He ranks third in the entire country in career points for active players (125), and he was tied for the most points in the country (50) back in the 2018-19 season.
Especially this season, Limoges has been critical to Penn State’s program as a leader on and off the ice.
“Limo is the identity of a culture that carries on for years,” head coach Guy Gadowsky said after the loss to Wisconsin. “You ask anyone who played with him, they will say he is an incredible human being.”
Limoges is also a nominee for the Hobey Baker award and the 2021 Senior CLASS award. Additionally, he was voted as the most “underrated” player in the conference by his fellow Big Ten student-athletes.
